Sad :(

So I guess you guys are wondering why I haven't put up any new outfit posts. Unfortunately my camera's not with me at the moment so as much as I wanna make an outfit post, I have to wait for the return of my beloved camera :( I'll try to blog about something else other than outfit shots. Oh yeah, another reason for the title of this post...its the end of my first term at FIP! Well, technically tomorrow's my last day but today was my last at my Fashion Design class. I'm seriously gonna miss my classmates. Even though I had a short moment with them, I've made some awesome new acquaintances :))

On the last day of our fashion design class, we had a small pot luck...in thanks to the time we shared with each other. I felt kinda bad since I didn't contribute anything on the food. I didn't even know we were having a pot luck! Haha, I was thankful for the free food though :)) Hehe
Spring rolls by Kim :) Yum!

The last three photos were actually taken a week ago when we had a kinda field trip to Taytay, Rizal to buy fabrics. Before braving the heat (it was hella hot that day!) we ate at this restaurant that served excellent Filipino food. The fabrics sold at Taytay were a whole lot cheaper than the ones you can find at stores here in Manila. Its cause you buy them by kilos instead of by yards. I got to bring home this pretty pastel/cream lace fabric that only cost me P250 a kilo (haggled for it from 280!) I've already got ideas on what to do with the fabric but I think I gotta learn how to sew first :)) Haha. Anyway, I'll definitely miss this class. Thankfully I'll still be classmates with some of them on some of my subjects next term.

Credits of photos to Madie Amoncio! Check out and like her page MADS, she's an accessory/jewelry designer :)

The Vow

So this is kinda a late post. These photos were taken about a week ago when me and my friends watched The Vow :)) It was kinda our own way of celebrating a late valentines since none of us had uhmmm...special someones to spend it with :)) Lol. No special outfit here though, I opted to wear something simple and comfortable since its easier that way. Sometimes its just a hassle and I'm not always in the mood to dress up. Haha.

How corny can I be? Lol!

So yeah, we ate at Sbarro (my fave pizza place!) then ate ice cream at DQ...ooh have I mentioned I also ate 3 pieces of Mrs. Fields cookies? Hahaha..what is matakaw? Anyway, had loads of fun with my dear friends :) It's been toooo long. Oh yeah, the movie wasn't so bad :)) We kept laughing though and I had a feeling we were starting to annoy some people :O Haha. More movie dates to come please!

P.S. Too bad we weren't able to take more pictures :( Oh well, there's always next time...

Read your worries away

I'm back! Oh gosh, I'm such a lousy blogger. I'm so sorry for being gone for like a week or so with no updates at all, whoever cares out there. Haha. I think I just had one major bloggers block. Oh what the heck, who am I kidding, maybe its just pure laziness? But whatever, the important thing is I'm back and 'em packed with a whole lot more spirit and dedication into improving this blog of mine (I've been thinking and researching a lot) Lol! So for this post, I'll share to you guys some books that my instructor in Fashion Design suggested as some must reads for fashion books. It's not a necessity really but books can be whole lot of help in terms of gaining more knowledge and insight into things.

Haha, couldn't think of any good title for this post so don't worry if you don't get it. I don't get it either :)) Lol

Contemporary Fashion Illustration Techiques by Naoki Watanabe
As far as affordability and quality goes, this here is best book to get if you wanna learn the basic and most important aspects in Fashion sketching and illustration. It'll also tech you how to create an edge on your own sketches. It ain't cool to be mainstream right? Haha

9 Heads: A Guide to Drawing Fashion by Nancy Riegelman

Well if you've got money to spare then 9 Heads would be best for you. Its complete and direct to the point with everything you have to know in creating your own fashion figures

Fashion Babylon by Imogen Edwards-Jones & Anonymous
Get an idea on what an A-list Fashion Designer's life can be :) Its true when they say that its not always glamorous in the fashion industry! Haha

The End of Fashion by Teri Agins
The business side of Fashion! Talent in designing can bring you somewhere but if you wanna go a looong way, you gotta be smart about it too :)

The Teen Vogue Handbook: An Insider's Guide to Career in Fashion by Teen Vogue
Before I even had the idea on what kinds of fashion books to buy, I've already been eyeing this one for a long time. I don't know why I haven't bought a copy yet but it's definitely on the top of my list :)

The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger
I bet you've seen the movie already and I also bet that you've heard "the book's better than the movie" before, right? Haha well you hear it often for a reason.A little trivia: They say that the character on the book 'Miranda Priestly' editor-in-chief of Runway magazine was based/inspired by Anna Wintour of Vogue in real life.

Lauren Conrad Style by Lauren Conrad
Well, I added this to the bunch because I just love the girl. I adore her classic, effortlessly chic fashion style. Definitely something I'd want to achieve for myself ;)

Well, thats it for now :) Now you know what I'm trying to save up for these days. When you're a fashion student or aspiring to someday break it into the industry, its always an advantage when you know what you're doing and what you're getting yourself into. I still have a looong way to go and a lot more studying/improving to do so I'll be stocking up on books and mags and drain my brain with some major fashion knowledge :))

P.S. I'm still looking for some good fashion photography and pattern making books. I've seen one or two online but unfortunately they're either not available in the Philippines or too expensive for my budget. Can you guys suggest some for me? And where I can buy them? Lots of thanks! xx

Share the love

Rain before the storm

Hey hey hey...long time no post right? Haha, sorry bout that -_- I've been hella busy and laziness overtook me for a while. But thankfully, I was able to be part of a photo shoot last Monday with my dear friends Maika and Dani (check out their blogs!) I missed them and it was great to see and spend time with them that day. And I got to meet their very talented photographer Mico Quintos (credits to him for the photos btw) Let's get on with the photo shoot :))

Here with my friend Maika checking out some photos I took with my cam. Isn't she gorgeous?
I really hate how my braces make my mouth look. Thank goodness I've only got 6 more months with 'em :|
With my pretty ladies, Maika and Dani <3
It was raining hard and the winds were cold that day so my hair ended up this way. Haha

I just wanna thank my sweet friends Maika and Dani again for the never ending fun and laughs when I get the chance to be with them :) And also to Mico Quintos for being a great photographer. It was a pleasure meeting you by the way. Well, there you have it folks. I'll try to update more often. I just might post about those sketches I've been working on for my Fashion Design class. Oh God..I can't wait -_- Haha.

Idealistic Dreamer

I just remembered these outfit sets I made for a school project we had at school. We presented a business proposal about designing a possible clothing line for CSB that's appropriate enough for the school's dress code :)) I thought of possible outfits I could go with for everyday school. These are mainly examples of what kind of 'style' I have I guess. Hope you guys like it :)

I hope you guys already got the idea that I'm basically obsessed with cardigans, blazers, and heels! Haha, I wish I could wear heels everyday all the time wherever I go :)) But yeah, that won't be practical for some occasions. Oh well..

What is vanity?

Lace Revolution

This is what I wore today. Well, except for the shoes though :)) I wore flats instead cause I was feeling a bit lazy to wear heels, plus I knew it was gonna be a stressful day so I chose to keep my toes comfy and my baggage light. Didn't have a chance to take outfit shots at school so I took em' at home instead :)

Of course I'm wearing shorts underneath! This dress is too damn short, it kept hiking up my tush :))
Sorry bout the sucking camera angling, I took these photos on my own since my brother wouldn't help me (his games were more important -_-)
Dress - Jellybean
Changed into these boots to give my lace dress a little edge
Pardon the pose -_- HAHA
P.S. I adore anything lace and this is the first day I ever wore this dress :) I have a feeling this lace number will be a favorite of mine to wear. Lol

Vintage manipulation

Something my wardrobe is definitely missing are some good accessories. A statement necklace and some stacked bangles can make any simple outfit automatically chic. I have no idea where my few accessories went but I'm currently left with nothing at all. All I have is this simple pearl gold necklace that my grandma gave me, I use it all the time I'm sure all my friend's familiar with it :) Anyway, today I bought these cutesy vintage earrings that a girl who also goes to FIP was selling. And what a great bargain too! I only paid 125 bucks for a set of four earrings. Its cheap and probably only has a short life span but they were just too cute not to take home :)

Aren't they just adorable?
